Style Tip :: Details to Look for in this Season’s Ankle Boots

Hope you had a great weekend! I apologize for being a tad quiet last week. I was in Boston for a work conference and it occupied my time more than I’d hope! I’m back to normal schedule this week and looking forward to bringing you some great posts! Fall is upon us and I am thrilled to stock my closet up with booties galore! For some reason, I’m always on the search for the perfect ankle boot, aren’t you?

Ankle boots are a must-have in any season, but they’ve really come into their own this year. Managing to straddle the line between sophistication and edginess, ankle boots are able to take you from a casual daytime look to a night out on the town. Choose a pair with a killer heel to wear to the office or a dressed down pair of motorcycle boots for weekend lounging. You’ll have plenty of ankle boots to choose from this fall, but the following are a few key trends to be on the lookout for.

Glitter and Gold

Metallic designs are everywhere this season, and ankle boots are no exception. Wear a pair of glittery gold booties for a dash of glam rock. If you’re feeling bold you can wear a bright pair of golden boots, but there are also more subdued options in bronze, gunmetal, and silver.

Military Buckles

Rock a biker or military look with buckle-festooned ankle boots. Think Doc Martens with a girly edge, perfect when paired with a leather jacket. Some of this season’s hottest buckled boots feature sleek cut-out designs, with buckles wrapping their way around the ankle. Sixties-inspired Chelsea boots are everywhere this season, in a wide variety of shapes and sizes. You can find practical flat Chelsea boots for stomping your way through your commute in comfort, or look for more delicate silhouettes with a block heel. The Chelsea look comes in menswear-inspired brogue designs, bumpy cowboy boots, and even in sleek PVC and rubber for rainy days.

Animal Prints

Take a walk on the wild side with animal-inspired prints. Snakeskin, leopard, and zebra are just a few hot options to choose from when you’re looking at ankle boots this season, with some of the more daring options mixing and matching prints. Fringed Boots

The bohemian look never really goes out of style, making boots decorated with fringe a sound purchase for many seasons to come.
