Last week, I was invited to enjoy an exclusive lunch and learn with Chef Cory Vitiello of The Harbord Room and Flock. He demonstrated how simple it was to transform dishes by incorporating Florida Grapefruits to create delicious masterpieces. Inspired by the juiciness and unique combination of bitter and sweet that grapefruits exhibit, I decided to prepare a grapefruit cocktail that is just splendid!
That few leftover bottles of champagne from your New Year celebrations is just the perfect excuse to whip up this Florida Grapefruit and Pear Champagne Cocktail, am I right?!
What You Will Need:
- 2 Florida Grapefruit
- 1 Asian Pear, peeled
- Your favourite Champagne
- Water
- Blender
- Garnish
Steps for Two Cocktails:
1 Juice one grapefruit and set aside / 2 Peel and cut the grapefruit into small chunks / 3 Slice pear / 4 Combine fruits and juice in blender / 5 add about 1/2 cup water / 6 blender on smoothie mode until mixed well / 7 add champagne to mixture (about 2 cups) / 8 Pour mixture over ice / 9 Garnish and ENJOY!
The combined flavours of the grapefruit, pear, and champagne is just so wonderful, I guarantee you’ll be adding to your list of entertaining favourites. If you’re not a big fan of too much pulp, I recommended setting aside some muddled grapefruit and juicing almost entirely both grapefruits as an alternative.
