Since our kitchen renovation last year, I’ve been itching to kick off more renovation projects!
I was so thrilled when The Home Depot Canada and Delta Faucet agreed to partner with us on our master bathroom renovations. I know some of you have been following along, and our renovations was recently completed. Though I’m not quite ready for the big reveal, just yet but I wanted to share a glimpse of our inspiration with you!
I’ve been pinning photos of gorgeous bathrooms for months now, there were so many elements I wanted to integrate, it was so hard to distill down to just a few. I was most excited about getting a fresh new look and selecting fancy fixtures and finishings, but the reason for renovating was indeed a practical one.
Our master bathroom is tiny. Kyle and I were always interfering, especially when we tried to save time by sharing our shower together. Our tub was narrow and slanted, which left us nearly any space to stand when the two of us were in there. So, our most important requirement for the renovation was to maximize space, allowing us to shower together without compromising water pressure and aesthetics.
I pinned four photos that I found myself constantly going back to (above). These four photos were the pinnacle to our design plans. I loved the idea of a his and her shower, two shower heads that can be operated simultaneously, giving Kyle and I plenty of room to shower together. Marble was also high on the list. I wanted to line the entire bathroom with marble and add a pop of statement to the shower stall with a black and white mosaic floor tile. Lastly, adding gold brass fixture to give it that understated glam vibe.
When we finally selected our contractor for the job, the first thing we needed to do was to get all the important supplies and materials ready. They had measured out the space and provided us with the dimensions we required to shop. We first did all of our research online at The Home Depot Canada before headed into the store to find exactly what we wanted. It is extremely important to go into the store in order to see and compare the flooring options in person. Often times, the colour and texture looks different than what you expect. It’s also super helpful to purchase a few sample slabs and bring them home so you can see them in action in the space.
There were so many great marble and mosaic options available at The Home Depot Canada and after days of debating, we (or should I say “I”) finally narrowed it down to a few options I’ve shown below on my inspiration board!
Shown: Vanity Lighting and Sconce: Living Lighting | Brass Mirror: CB2 | Shower Trim, Faucets, and Accessories: Delta Faucets VERO collection | Marble 12×12 Flooring: The Home Depot Canada | Marble 12×24 Wall Tiles: The Home Depot Canada | Mosaic Marble Tiles: The Home Depot Canada (here, here, and here) | Vanity: Wayfair | Skincare: Fresh Beauty
I can’t wait to share the final before and after shots of our bathroom in the next few weeks! I am SO happy with how it came together! I’ve been posting sneaks via Instagram, so if you’re interested, be sure to hop on over! We are also in the process of transforming our basement storage room into a fully functioning mud room and you guys are going to LOVE it!
