Have you started decorating for the holidays yet?

I’ve observed two types of holiday decorators, those that go big as soon as Halloween is over or those that procrastinate until mid-December. Where do you fall within this spectrum?

As for me, I like to slowly introduce a few simple holiday inspired decorations in November as a way to ease into the holiday season and as Christmas begins to inch it’s way closer, I will continue to add statement pieces and transition into the full holiday spirit.

When I traveled to Iceland last year, I was incredibly taken away by the simple Nordic inspired design. I fell in love with all the cozy fur, simple greenery and natural wood details.  With the help from my friends at Command® Brand, I decided to ease into this holiday season with my own interpretation of a Nordic style Christmas.

Nordic style is all about simplicity and no fuss. I selected a number of holiday decor items that were modern, minimalistic but also warm and inviting. I brought in several star shaped marquee lights and large ornaments that I wanted to have float on the wall and mirror as well as a set of simple geometric shaped strings lights to be hung around the mirror for some added fun.

I realized that excess and bulky wires can put a damper on my vision for a simplistic Nordic design. In addition, since I plan to integrate and transform my overall holiday decor style as we continue to approach Christmas, I really needed to find a solution to help me achieve this overall look. One that would  give me flexibility in case I changed my mind, but also a strong hold that wouldn’t damage my walls or other surfaces.

I was so pleased when I discovered that Command® Brand carried a number of products that checked all the boxes. If you haven’t used their array of nifty solutions before, you’re likely adding unnecessary stress (and holes) to your holiday preparations!

I used the Command® Brand Clear Decorating Clips to ensure that these cute string lights held in place around the mirror in just a matter of minutes. Want to know the best part? The clips are super easy to apply (be sure to read the package instructions prior to use) and they are hardly noticeable! The string lights appear to be magically floating!

My next mission was to hang this battery-operated star marquee sign without having to make any holes on the wall. I used the Command® Brand Medium Picture Hanging Strips to help me pull this off! Each pack comes with three strips that will allow for a maximum weight of 9lbs. Though the strips were designed as a picture hanging solution, it is equally suitable for other signage and wall hangings.

The strips have a super strong hold and by following the simple instructions, I got this marquee light sign up and running in no time! I also took the same approach to hang the large star-shaped pine cone ornaments directly on the mirror.

I’m really pleased with my first stage of holiday decorating so far, and can’t wait to show you what else I’ve got up my sleeve with my friends at Command® Brand.
