The change in seasons always urge me to try new cosmetics.
With Fall just around the corner (and sadly, my tan beginning to fade!), I’ve been drawn to darker eye shadows, soft peach face palettes, and matte lipsticks in nude and jewel tones. Quo, exclusively available at Shoppers Drug Mart, launched their super fun and affordable limited edition Fall collection and guess what? The packaging was inspired by the much sought after marble trend which clearly was also meant to be given my newly renovated marble bathroom!
To celebrate the fall collection, I’m sharing a glimpse of my favourite colours and my everyday Fall makeup looks!
Cheeks
The fall collection includes two Quo Face Palettes ($20) in Cool Pink (right) and Warm Peach (left). Each palette includes a contouring bronzer, a highlighter and two shades of blush, giving you plenty of options to create the look you’re trying to achieve. Using the limited edition Quo brush collection ($50, also comes with pictured marble carrying case), I first applied the bronzer under my cheekbones and swiped upward towards my ear/hairline, followed by blush on the center of my cheekbones and finished with a highlighter just above the cheekbones.
I particularly enjoy the highlighter in these palettes. The pigment is strong (i.e. super shimmery) and it offers a soft look.
Eyes
I generally reserve darker eye shadows for an evening out. During the day, I typically brush on tan or brown eye shadow. I was determined to try a darker shadow for a day time look! The Quo Fall collection includes two Eye Shadow Palettes ($16), the top one pictured is Evergreen and the bottom is Stone Cold.
I was really intrigued by the forest green colour. I first applied a layer of deep bronze colour (the one right next to it) all over my eyelids then layered the green over (but just about half of the lid). At first the darker color intimated me, but I then applied the Quo Matte Lip Crayon in Chestnut, and it was perfect as a Fall day-time beauty look!
Brows
I get pretty oily throughout the day, which means my brows are always looking for a midday touch up. This Eye Brow Palette ($12) is the perfect purse companion! The palette includes a duo shade eyebrow powder which make is super easy to create that gradient look. I also LOVE the highlighter in this nifty kit. It is the absolute best applied under the brow over top the brow bone to really make your brows pop.
I will always choose a matte lipstick over a glossy one! The Quo Matte Lip Crayon ($12) comes in three fabulous Fall colours – Brick, Chestnut, and Eggplant. The texture is soft and creamy but the finishing is strong and matte. I really love these three shades!
I played around with a couple of everyday looks, both with the Warm Peach Face Palette as the base. I must say that the Evergreen eye shadow palette paired with the Chestnut Lip Crayon is by far my favourite. A close second is the purple shadow in the Stone Cold palette paired with the Eggplant Lip Crayon, I have always found that purple shades are great on Asian skin tone!
