TGIF Lovelies! The last time I talked beauty was when I shared some natural DIY beauty tips you can try in the comfort of your own home. However, it’s been quite some time since I’ve talked about my beauty picks.
Before you know it, Spring is around the corner. When I think Spring beauty, I think colour. This Spring, I’m looking forward to trying out pastel and bright coral colours. Heading into Spring and out of Winter also means keeping skin looking flawless. The Winter can be extremely harsh on your skin, so I like to start early and keep my skin (and lips) hydrated throughout the Winter and in time for the Spring weather.
Check out some of my recommended picks to get you through the Winter and ready for Spring!
I love Sonia Kashuk’s Spring 2014 Collection. Shown above are a few of my favourite items. The Dewy Luxe Lip & Cheek Balm shown in Charmed is a multi-tasking balm that can be used both on the lips and cheeks. The wand applicator makes it very easy to blend and it offers a dewy finish. It also contains lychee extract for hydration and antioxidant protection (remember what I said about starting early with hydration!). I am amazed by this beauty glowing coral colour as well.
Sonia Kashuk is also offering an array of ultra-glossy new Nail Color in varying shades (9 shades in total) for Spring 2014. Shown above is Breakfast at Tiffany’s, a minty green hue; Petal Pusher, a slated lilac hue; and Sunset Blvd, a vibrant coral colour (to match my Lip & Cheek Balm!)
Though the Defining Longwear Gel Eye Liner (shown above in Ebony) is not a new product for Spring, however the formula has been updated to offer a long lasting (up to 16 hours) wear, precise application, and also contains anti-aging antioxidants with Vitamin E and pomegranate sterols. I typically use a liquid eye liner pen for my eyes, but I can’t wait to try this out with an eyeliner brush.
I’ve been a big fan of Pixi by Petra when I was introduced to this London, UK based brand about a year ago. I was addicted to their Natural Brow Duo pen (shown above in new shades this Spring: Deep Brunette and Soft Black). I’m happy to see that Pixi is carried here in Canada at Target now and I no longer have to stock up in the US or in London. The dual-ended brow pen helps keep brows in perfect shape. On one end is a waterproof brow powder pencil that has an angled tip for precise application and on the other end is a tinted soft hold gel to keep brows in shape. You know what you’ve slept funny, and your brow hair is all out of shape? This little wand will help!
Trying for the first time is the H2O Skin Tint (priced at $24). When I mentioned about keeping your skin hydrated, this super-hydrating, gel-textured tinted moisturizer will give skin a flawless finish with great coverage. The matte formulation coupled with the tint reminds me of a BB cream, but this glides on much sheerer and also minimizes pores. I’m using the Warm shade, but it also comes in Cream and Nude.
Sonia Kashuk and Pixi by Petra products are available at Target in US and Canada. The Spring 2014 is available beginning March 2014 across Target stores in Canada.
I’m also crazy about these Epic Blend Premium Lip Balms (can I also say they are proudly Canadian?!). I got my hands on a variety of their lip balms including their Hemp and Vegan options. Their Hemp Lip Balm is made with organic hemp seed oil and their Vegan Lip Balm is made with all-natural food grade Candelilla wax, which is 100% plant-based and beeswax-free. If you’re looking for extra moisturizing options, try their “More Moisture” Lip Balm which is made with organic Shea Butter. Offered in a variety of flavors such as Coconut, Wild Berry, and Citrus Kick, my favourite is Pineapple Mint.
What are your some of your beauty picks for Spring 2014?
I hope I got you somewhat ready and excited for the Spring season! Enjoy your weekend, will ya?
