I’m finally nearing the final stretch of my pregnancy and let’s be honest, dressing for the bump at this last stage isn’t always the most exciting and fun. The belly is getting bigger and bigger by the day and well, there just really aren’t too many clothing options to choose from. That’s why I’ve turned my attention to playing with makeup these last few weeks to spruce things up!
I’m so thrilled for the new makeup additions from Quo Cosmetics and in particular, the Gloss N’ Glow Collection that offers a number of products to create glossy and dewy looks that are just perfect for summer.
This Gloss N’ Glow Collection includes a beautiful 5-piece brush set, high shine lip gloss, hydrating oil stick, easy to apply highlighter, and finally, a universal glow cream. I was so impressed by how easy these products glide onto the skin – I was able to create a simple, everyday appropriate glossy look in just minutes!
The Glow Cream is a thin, lightweight cream that leaves the skin looking smoother and brighter! It’s great used as a primer base under makeup or in my case, used it as an illuminator over my foundation for an evenly distributed finish. If you tend to have an oily t-zone, I recommend leaving that area out when applying this product. A little of this product goes a long way, so I recommend dabbing a tiny bit to different areas of your face and working it in with your fingertips. It’s also a great touch-up product to keep in your purse if you need a little ‘face lift’ after a long day at the office before heading off to meet friends!
I particularly love the Dew It All Highlighter. I applied a generous amount to my brow bones and cheekbones to accentuate those areas which really illuminates the whole face. This product compared to the Glow Cream offers more shimmer and has a bouncy texture that gives you full control of how much (or little) you want to apply. This product can be used to top off a full makeup look or simply dab some on your skin on those hot makeup-free summer days!
The Hydrating Oil Stick is a handy little friend that can be used for all-over hydration when applied to a clean face prior to makeup application or can be used as needed for a touch-up over makeup. It essentially helps create that dewy texture that we all aspire to achieve effortlessly.
I’m generally not a huge fan of super glossy lip options because most of the time I find them too light for my darker pout. In the summertime, when my skin and lips get a little bit darker than usual, I find the glossy, shimmer finish too washed out on my complexion. However, with this Gloss Lip Icing (a shiny, smooth gloss) I simply layered a touch of it on the outer edges of my lips on top of my favourite darker shade lipstick. The slight shimmer finish completed the look and it’s also very moisturizing!
