Happy Hump Day! Ever since I posted up my DIY Iron-On Sweatshirt a couple of weeks ago, I haven’t been able to keep my mind off comfy sweatshirts. I absolutely love the way they feel against my skin, especially the fleece lining inside. I’m also thrilled that they’ve come a long way from the matching sweatshirt/sweat pant look, a memory from elementary school.

I love the idea of being able to customize my own goods (clearly!). Whether it is as simple as adding monogram to a piece if garment, getting your own t-shirts printed, or going as far as designing your own pair of shoes, there’s something so special about getting involved in the production process. It makes the final product that much more meaningful.
Hence I was so excited when I was introduced to May28th – an accessories brand that has a product called “INSTAWATCH” that allows you to design your own watch by uploading any photo or image from your computer or Instagram. I spent some time over the weekend trying their online watch platform and you probably imagine, I went a wee bit out of control! The options are endless and they’re only $44 a pop!
A quickie today! ATTENTION to all Crafters and DIY Lovers – If you haven’t been on Cut Out + Keep before, you’ve got to check them out! They have endless (I really mean it) crafter and DIY projects for you to check out and try, loads of inspiration for your next project.
I’m honored to be featured as their Fashion Superstar this week – showcasing some of my past Fashion DIY project from the blog.
TGIF!!! Today is the BIG day, we’re getting our keys! The last couple of days have been full of packing, I can’t believe how much stuff I’ve accumulated over the last couple of years. I had some tough parting moments with some once beloved items but it had to be done!
On another note, I had so much fun partaking in this DIY post with BuzzFeed. What a great way to spruce up the office or just in time for back to school with this DIY Mosaic Pencil Holder.
Happy Thursday! Staying inspired and coming up with new DIY ideas can be a daunting task at times. Quite often I go through what I call a DIY block, where I sit at my DIY craft station and have absolutely no idea what I’m going to work on next. Luckily, a combination of scouring through my closet, my kitchen, flipping through magazines and Pinterest, has saved me on several occasion.
If you’re looking to get inspired simply because you’re feeling crafty, follow some of my Pinterest boards, where I’ve pinned a number of interesting photos and projects from others.
Last week I shared my DIY Skort inspiration. I absolutely adore the infamous skort that Zara (similar here) came up with spring/summer season and snatched a pair as soon as I got a the chance. I wish I could stack them up in my closet in every colour and print, unfortunately the selection is slim to none.
Therefore, I decided to DIY a pair by using a floral silk scarf I bought from H&M for $12.95 months ago (I was determined to use it for a DIY project!). I love the result of it! The beauty is, you can pretty much use any fabric you have for this project and I also used an existing pair of shorts that I found were a little tad short as the base for this.
Just a quick post to end the work week as I’m off to Chicago bright and early on Friday morning. Follow along with me on Instagram to see what I’ll be up to!
OK… so we’ve all seen THE (Zara) skort worn on almost every fashion blogger out there. I must confess, I’ve got the same one in black. I love the damn thing. The asymmetrical hem lines makes the piece so interesting that I wish they made it in every fabric and color. The interesting thing is, though I’ve seen it pop up in other stores now, but I’ve only seen them in basic solid colors.
SO, why not DIY a version. Stay tuned early next week and I’ll reveal my floral silk creation made from a silk scarf I purchased early this season (here’s a sneak peek!).
Back in June I shared a DIY Inspiration post on Matching Print on Print. I have been longing to pick one up at the store, but lucky for me while cleaning my closet for the big move (I swear, it’s like shopping in my own closet) I came across an old floral tube dress I purchased years ago at Urban Planet. The dress was a little wee tight for me across the chest and to be honest, I’m generally just not a huge fan of tube tops and dresses. My DIY sensors were turned on and I had the perfect plan to transform my tube dress into a two piece matching cropped top and skirt.
Happy Monday! I hope you had a wonderful weekend, mine was filled with good food, good wine, and a not so quick shopping trip across the border! I picked up some great treasures, everything was 50% off at BCBG!
Today’s DIY project was inspired by the Catbird’s gold knuckle ring. I love the simplicity of a single thin gold ring and of course when stacked with several others, creates an edgy yet girly look to any outfit (smitten by the way Jules worn them here).
Happy Hump Day! Can’t believe it’s Wednesday already, it’s a short week for me due to the Canada Day holiday on Monday, I hope all my fellow Canadians had an amazing holiday celebration. Mine was fantastic for the most part, except it ended off with a really bad reaction to a mosquito bite on my eye lid!!! Think swollen eye a size of an hard boiled egg! To all my American readers, happy early Fourth of July!
Today’s DIY project is actually a re-do. A little while back I was SO excited when BuzzFeed (see the mini disaster here) approached me and asked me to participate in a DIY Summer Sandal challenge. Sadly to say, the photos didn’t turn out that well and my vision for this Jimmy Choo inspired Tassel Wrapped Sandal just didn’t come through on page the way I wanted it to. Therefore, I decided to re-shoot the photos for this DIY here we are.
