One of the best things about blogging is being introduced to so many great beauty products on the market. To truly test a new product’s effects, it really does require a little bit of time. I was introduced to Murad skin care in early July and spent the month giving it a test drive. Murad carries a collection on skin care products that are targeted to ‘making everyday better”. With product lines specializing in balancing combination skin, anti-aging, treating acne, and sun protection, there sure is a collection that is proven to assist with your skincare needs are.

Dental care has always been very important in our famil. Growing up, my parents wanted to take full advantage of our dental benefits as I believe in Hong Kong, dental care was very expensive and certainly not a part of their health care benefits. My parents were adamant about sticking to our scheduled teeth cleanings and visiting the dentist became a bi-annual habit (I even ended up working at my dentist for years when I was in school!).
Though visiting the dentist for routine cleanings is a good start to great dental hygiene, there are certainly additional dental care steps you can take at home, in between visits.
For everyday teeth cleaning, I highly recommend an electric toothbrush. Can you believe, I was only introduced to an electric toothbrush this year in May, when my sister purchased a Philips Sonicare DiamondClean electric toothbrush for me. I absolutely LOVE it and Kyle has since swapped out his old one for this super innovative and sophisticated option.
Since March, I’ve been working with Neutrogena Canada on the “A Tale of Transitions” campaign. I shared a few transitional tales through a series of short video clips, and I couldn’t tell you how impeccable the timing of this project is.
As I gear up for my upcoming wedding in a couple of weeks (YIKES!), I, too, have been reminiscing on memories with all the special people in my life. Throughout the years, they have shared in countless memories, good, bad, and the funnies, and they have been such a huge support system. Each one has helped shape who I have become. I am so excited to celebrate a new chapter of life with them.
Happy Friday, sharing with you today my recent summer skincare secrets article originally published on WINNERS, enjoy!
As you expose more skin, we already know that sun protection is very important during the summer months! However, applying sun protection is only one of many steps when it comes to a good summer skin care regimen.
During the summer, my T-zone gets extremly oily but due to sun exposure, other areas of my face tend to get dry and from time to time my skin may also flake and peel. I visited WINNERS to stock up on a variety of skin care products to fight my summer skin care challenges.
I am a huge fan of getting pampered at the nail salon. An occasional manicure and pedicure is such a nice treat, especially near the start of the warm season. At the salon, I generally opt for a classic French manicure or something that is subtle and timeless. However, when I opt to do my nails in the privacy of my own home, I let the creative cat take over and love to experiment with fun nail art designs.
My inner artist had me inspired to create a nail look resembling an abstract painting. This nail look is extremely easy to re-create and trust me, you can’t make a mistake!

When it comes to face moisturizers, creams, and gels, there isn’t one specific product that I stick to. I believe that depending on the season, my surrounding environment, mood, or age, my skin behaves differently, and, therefore, it will require different products to suit its immediate needs. In addition to not relying on only one brand or type of product, I also never stick to only one price point. Cheaper doesn’t mean worse, and pricey doesn’t mean better. When it comes to selecting the right product for me, I look for something that fights the immediate challenge I’m faced with.
The beauty? I get to experiment and try many products without feeling guilty!
A couple of weeks ago, I mentioned my recent collaboration with the Neutrogena Canada team. I am so excited to finally share the A Tale of Transitions video series with you! The entire Neutrogena Canada and Mode Media Canada team did such a tremendous job on this, I loved the way they turned out! This was the first time I got a glimpse of these videos and of course you’re the first I want to share them with. I am also so privileged to have worked alongside Ania, Alicia, Katelyn and Vanessa on these videos, they stories were all full of humor and inspiration.
No need to say more, keep reading and click the Neutrogena videos to watch these short clips!
Ladies and gents! Some exciting news to share with you today! I’ve been asked to join the Neutrogena Canada Team alongside seven other fierce Canadian bloggers to partake in their Hydro Boost product launch.
We were asked to reveal our transitional tales through several short video clips and I can’t begin to tell you what a blast I had spending two days with such a talented and beautiful group of people. We got to learn so much about each other and also shared a few laughs remembering our funny but major fail moments from our adolescent and teenage years.
I’m a no fuss kind of gal when it comes to makeup. Working in a somewhat conservative industry (my day job), I like to keep my makeup simple and professional. My daily makeup routine typically includes a light bb cream, bronzer, blush and some light eyeshadow. Now on any given day if I’m too pressed for time, I’m willing to forego any one of those products, but ONE thing I absolutely will not leave the house without is eyeliner!
It shouldn’t strike you as a surprise that I have almond shaped eyes (most of us Asians do!). On top of that, I also uneven eyelid creases between my left and right eye which gives the illusion that one eye is always bigger than the other. Black eyeliner has always been a good friend, to help me even out the creases – I apply almost double amount of eyeliner on my left side.
I’ve tried my share of eyeliners, but must say that I’m totally obsessed with tarte Cosmetics‘ newest addition to the family – tartiest Clay Paint Liner.
The tartiest Clay Paint Liner is the first ever squeezable cream liner with a unique blending tip, read further to see why I love this new product!
Between work, planning for our wedding, and keeping up with the blog, not going to lie, it’s been pretty hectic! I’m so thankful that my friends at Langton and Moroccanoil sent a fabulous care package to me for a day of relaxation. I decided to de-stress at home and enjoyed a DIY spa day in. I’ve been a big fan of Moroccanoil hair products for quite some time (read about some of top Moroccanoil hair products picks), but I’ve yet to try their body line.
What a perfect way to unwind during a brutally cold winter day and recuperate inside and out!
