With the official arrival of Fall means more cozy nights in. I love hosting intimate gatherings at home during the cooler months, it’s a fantastic time to catch up with friends and enjoy each other’s company. Hosting dinner parties can be a bit overwhelming, especially if you’re hoping to impress your guests. With my busy schedule, hosting an elaborate dinner party is almost impossible, therefore wine & cheese nights are much more manageable in my opinion.

However, hosting an ultimate wine & cheese night does require some preparation. The wines and cheeses you select are definitely going to be the superstars to your evening, but home decor, dinnerware and your entire tablescape is certainly going to be ‘wow’ factor.

The month leading up to Labour Day and Back to School seems to be a particularly popular month to move into a new house.  And with new homes also means housewarming parties. As much as I love a good bottle or red wine and a couple of crystal wine glasses, let’s face it, it’s not exactly the most unique or fascinating gift to celebrating a new home!

I’m always searching for unique housewarming gifts. Many new homeowners are already on a tight budget with all the expenses that come with closing a new house. What better way to give them a break by extending a few special gifts to them?!

Though Summer seemed to have just arrived, I’ve been tempted to shop for Fall items which have already started to make their way into stores. I know, I know, maybe I’m being just a tad proactive with my shopping goals? But trust me, I’ve been disappointed countless times when September arrives and all the new, shiney items I’ve been eyeing disappear from the shelves.

I decided to change up the game this year and picked up a few of my Fall favourites from Indigo and incorporating into my Summer wardrobe. Because, WHY NOT?!

I must admit, leading up to our wedding, planning occupied most of my time and I put several DIY projects on hold. Now that the wedding has been perfectly squared away, I’m totally ready to get back on track with the list of home decor projects on my list! Hooray! Just a couple of days to go until Christmas! Though it is the most exciting time of the year, it can get fairly hectic, don’t you agree? I’ve got a great DIY to help you simplify your table setting and easy clean up too!

This year, Kyle and I are hosting an intimate dinner at our house on Christmas Day. When the two of us eat at home, we are super casual and rarely properly set the table, therefore I am so thrilled that I finally get the chance to ‘formally’ set the dining table. Instead of running out to to purchase a set of matching placemats, coasters, and name cards, I decided to design a fun faux table setting placemat accompanied with matching coasters and place cards.

Guess what? I also laminated these DIY table setting placemats so that they can be personalized and reused for my next dinner parties to come!

Earlier this week, I had BIG plans to revamp a wall in our living room and picked up a few jars of CIL Testers (on sale for $3.97 at Home Depot). My plan was (and still is) to hand paint a super awesome wall paper pattern I spotted in a Kate Spade change room. Since the pattern really don’t require a full can of paint, the small CIL Testers definitely works.

However … let’s just say the Christmas party we attended over the weekend may have set me (slightly) back from my big paint project that certainly would have required attention to detail and focus. I managed to not let my entire weekend go to waste and tackled a few mini DIY holiday paint projects that are worth mentioning!

Happy Friday friends! I rarely bake. However, I do make an exception during the holidays and absolutely love to greet my friends with a fresh batch of cookies and treats. Last weekend, I decided to put my (super cute) apron on and baked some fresh cupcakes for my girlfriends. A special thanks to the team at President’s Choice for making my bake day such a breeze. Instead of baking from scratch, I gave their Decadent Chocolate Cake Mix a try and let me tell you – I definitely fooled a few … an apology to my girls, they were actually made with cake mix!

I was introduced to Lint and Honey by a friend and instantly fell in love with their kitchen textiles. Our kitchen has never been my favourite room in our house (I had a vision for white marble and light cabinetry), therefore, I’ve always been on a hunt for super cute kitchen accessories.
