The month leading up to Labour Day and Back to School seems to be a particularly popular month to move into a new house.  And with new homes also means housewarming parties. As much as I love a good bottle or red wine and a couple of crystal wine glasses, let’s face it, it’s not exactly the most unique or fascinating gift to celebrating a new home!

I’m always searching for unique housewarming gifts. Many new homeowners are already on a tight budget with all the expenses that come with closing a new house. What better way to give them a break by extending a few special gifts to them?!

Though Summer seemed to have just arrived, I’ve been tempted to shop for Fall items which have already started to make their way into stores. I know, I know, maybe I’m being just a tad proactive with my shopping goals? But trust me, I’ve been disappointed countless times when September arrives and all the new, shiney items I’ve been eyeing disappear from the shelves.

I decided to change up the game this year and picked up a few of my Fall favourites from Indigo and incorporating into my Summer wardrobe. Because, WHY NOT?!

I must admit, leading up to our wedding, planning occupied most of my time and I put several DIY projects on hold. Now that the wedding has been perfectly squared away, I’m totally ready to get back on track with the list of home decor projects on my list! I’m thrilled to share with you that I’ve been invited by BEHR to join an elite team of 18 other BEHR DIY Experts! What does this mean? Means I’ll be sharing monthly DIY paint projects, inspirations, and latest paint trends sure to get you geared up for your own paint and home renovation plans. Feel free to suggest some future paint projects for me, I’d love to work on a few that you’d like to see!

I was recently introduced to Casamigos Tequila and unlike my past experiences with tequila, I was given the opportunity to try several Casamigos Tequila cocktails at The Keg that were delicious and soon altered my perception of how you can enjoy this spirit. Therefore, I thought I’d attempt to create a tasty and refreshing tequila cocktail of mine own.

To help you get through the start of the week, I’ve got a cheeky and fun recipe I’d love to share with you. I mentioned in my recent smoothie post that I’ve been playing around with pineapples, I know you’ve all tried a banana split, but how about a Pineapple Split? I love summer for many reasons, but one of them is certainly the assortment of fresh fruits that are available during these warm, sunny months. I love pineapples, but typically don’t buy them whole (pre-cut speaks to the lazy side of me!) BUT, a few days ago, I decided to bring a few pineapple friends back home with me and I spent the day making not only one but THREE tasty pineapple treats that is sure to tantalize your taste buds. I’ll be sharing the three recipes over the course of the next couple of weeks – first up is a simple yet tasty smoothie that is good enough for breakfast, lunch, or a refreshing afternoon pick me up!

Dental care has always been very important in our famil. Growing up, my parents wanted to take  full advantage of our dental benefits as I believe in Hong Kong, dental care was very expensive and certainly not a part of their health care benefits. My parents were adamant about sticking to our scheduled teeth cleanings and visiting the dentist became a bi-annual habit (I even ended up working at my dentist for years when I was in school!).

Though visiting the dentist for routine cleanings is a good start to great dental hygiene, there are certainly additional dental care steps you can take at home, in between visits.

For everyday teeth cleaning, I highly recommend an electric toothbrush. Can you believe, I was only introduced to an electric toothbrush this year in May, when my sister purchased a Philips Sonicare DiamondClean electric toothbrush for me. I absolutely LOVE it and Kyle has since swapped out his old one for this super innovative and sophisticated option.

I am a big fan of subscription services. I like the idea of surprises showing up at my doorstep and being able to try new things on a frequent basis. I’ve tried many subscription services in the past, primarily beauty subscription services. However, I’ve really enjoyed the food and drink subscription services I’ve been introduced to lately. They’ve made our diet more interesting and fun!

Since March, I’ve been working with Neutrogena Canada on the “A Tale of Transitions” campaign. I shared a few transitional tales through a series of short video clips, and I couldn’t tell you how impeccable the timing of this project is.

As I gear up for my upcoming wedding in a couple of weeks (YIKES!), I, too, have been reminiscing on memories with all the special people in my life. Throughout the years, they have shared in countless memories, good, bad, and the funnies, and they have been such a huge support system. Each one has helped shape who I have become. I am so excited to celebrate a new chapter of life with them.
