I can’t believe it’s the last week of August! I’m holding onto that last bit of Summer by filling my weekends with road trips and roadside picnics with the help of the 2018 Ford EcoSport. Earlier this year, I had the chance to celebrate the launch of this crossover SUV at the Ford Life Hack Academy event in New York City.

Travel :: What Makes a Hotel So Great {Review of Andaz Ottawa Byward Market}
I’ve stayed over 500 nights in hotels.
I’d like to think that I know a thing or two when it comes to staying in hotels. In my earlier life as a consultant, I’ve stayed my fair share. One year, I stayed nearly three months straight in hotels, and let me tell you, unless you’re staying in utmost luxury, it’s not that glamorous! I’ve made many observations throughout the years about hotels and definitely have my top list of memorable ones.
Travel :: Surprise Anniversary Weekend Getaway c/o La Marca Prosecco
It was our two-year wedding anniversary near the end of June. But due to our insanely busy schedules, coupled with a somewhat last minute gallbladder surgery I was notified of, we didn’t get the chance to plan an eventful celebratory weekend this year as we had hoped.
When I found out that our friends at La Marca Prosecco prearranged a surprise weekend getaway for Kyle and I to celebrate our belated anniversary, we were ecstatic! It’s not often that someone plans on my behalf, so I was incredibly appreciative of this thoughtful sparkly gesture.
Our weekend was full of surprises, great eats, adventures, and lots of La Marca bubbly while relaxing, of course!
It’s been nearly ten years since I’ve traveled on vacation with my family. In May, as a group of 11, we embarked on a week-long trip to Hawaii. We adventured around the island of Oahu and we couldn’t have asked for a better time! It was my first time in Hawaii, and it’s no lie when they say that it is paradise!
Seeing that getting the entire family out to Hawaii is likely a once in a lifetime kind of experience, I surprised my sister and mom with matching swimwear and outfits from Joe Fresh’s recent collection in collaboration with lemlem, an artisan-driven collection of women’s, men’s, children’s and home goods made entirely in Africa.

Whether you’re in a highly technical profession or a free flowing creative spirit, continuing to learn and develop in your own area of expertise will most certainly benefit your career. However, in addition to ‘bettering’ yourself in your comfort zone, I personally also like to challenge myself to acquire new skills and discover new areas of knowledge. Oftentimes, I end up developing a new passion that I hadn’t considered before!
Since becoming a part of the Nespresso Coffee Connoisseur Club, I’ve managed to learn a few new tidbits about coffee. It has widened my familiarity and preference in both taste and intensity of coffee.
If you’ve ever seen the movie Up in the Air, you would have learned a thing or two from George Clooney on how to navigate through the world of business travel. When you’ve been in the air as much as his character Ryan Bingham has, you’ll too pick up on a few tips and tricks.
Over the past 10 years, I’ve traveled quite extensively for business. One year, I spent over 120 non consecutive days at various Marriott hotels and pretty much lived out of my suitcase over a three-month period. With all that business travel under my belt, like Ryan Bingham, I’ve become quite efficient when it comes to packing for my trips.
Happy New Year! I hope you had a great few days off! If you’ve enjoyed your holidays as much as I did, it probably meant that you indulged a bit more than usual. With holiday gifts, dinner parties, and Boxing Week shopping, I’m sure you’re looking for ways to save.
Just before the holidays, I shared a few shopping savings tips by using digital coupons for the purchase of luxury goods and presents. Did you know digital couponing sites such as RetailMeNot.ca are also great for non-gift items such as planning your next vacation, saving on your next spa day, or even preparing for RRSP season? There are a vast amount of promo codes and offers made available on RetailMeNot.ca and I’ll show you how I used the website to prepare for my next vacation.

I finally started to go through some of the photos we took during our honeymoon! I will be sharing more in a few more posts, but first up, is the beautiful town of Oia on the islands of Santorini. During the second week of our honeymoon, we explored the islands of Greece and spent one day touring this breathtaking town. There are four main towns along the caldera in Santorini – Fira, Firostefani, Imerovigli, and Oia. These are located on the western edge of the island and are situated on the caldera cliff, which offers fantastic views of the volcano.

Hello! I’m finally settling back in after returning from our wonderful honeymoon! We had such an incredible time touring parts of Europe but my most favourite were definitely the Greek Islands. Can I say, WOW?! I’ll be sure to share some photos with you once I’ve had a chance to go through them!

We are just over a month away until we head off to our honeymoon! I’m so excited to take some time off and spend some time with the hubby! It was a tough decision in terms of picking our locations for our trip, but after several elimination rounds, we finally decided to tour a few European cities. I’m so excited to explore Prague, Budapest, and the Greek Islands of Mykonos and Santorini, and finishing up with a pit stop in London.
With several cities on the docket and two weeks away from home, packing for this honeymoon will certainly require some thinking through. On one hand I want to pack a variety of clothing items to suit every (un)foreseeable situation, but on the other hand, I also want to reduce the amount of bags to avoid additional baggage fees. Decisions, decisions.
