Mother’s Day is just a week away! I find that moms are the hardest to shop for (at least the the case with mine!). Why not combine the best of both worlds by shopping for something stylish but also personalizing your gift by DIY-ing something special for her too?
I decided to tackle a unique project for Mother’s Day. I found this pretty floral blouse at Joe Fresh and was immediately inspired to use the floral print to personalize a gift for mom. I remember a few weeks back I stumbled upon a candle in a ‘soup blow’-like canister. I loved it and haven’t really seen anything like it in stores. Therefore, I proceeded to create my own DIY Soup Bowl Candle using the print from the blouse as my Mother’s Day Gift to Mom.
What do you have planned for the most important woman in your life? Why not tackle a unique Mother’s Day Gift?!
What you will need:
- 1 lb Premium Candle Wax, Bees Wax works as well. I used approximately 1 lb for my soup bowl
- Candle Colouring, I dyed my red, but you can also use crayons for coloring
- Candle Wick
- Printed blouse (mine from here for $24)
- Photo printed (5×7 in size, 2 copies)
- Mod Podge Glue
- Paint brush
- Gift box
This is the terrific way to make something extra special for Mom! Joe Fresh carries many options, there ought to be a print that works for your mom!
