Happy Monday to you!! I hope you had a fabulous weekend! We spent the weekend yet again house hunting but let me tell you though the experience has been exciting, it’s also been stressful! I hope we will find our dream home soon! On a lighter note, a few days until vacation to London and Barcelona, I’m looking forward to some R&R. If you have any suggestions, please leave me a comment below, what to see, what to eat, what to shop for etc.!
With wedding season fast approaching, thought I’d give some soon-to-be brides a few ideas on DIY-ing your own wedding invitations. Don’t be intimidated by making your own wedding invitations!
Many brides are now opting to make their own wedding invitations as a personalized alternative to having them created at a boutique or expensive printing shop. Your invitations are just the beginning to your wedding, and therefore they should have the personalized and romantic touch which you will be incorporating into your very special day.
It can often appear like a daunting task to make your own invitations, place cards or wedding favours, however this is just a myth. If you know what idea you are wanting and are already confident with the colour themes you will be using, making your invites and wedding favours can be a breeze.
Many brides decide that they would like their wedding invitations to match the colour schemes of their bridesmaid dresses and the flowers; however it can often work to pick complimenting colours, but not exactly the same. This can create a nice edge to the colour scheme, and allows your big day to not be as colour restricted.
Here are a few options you can try!
By hand
Creating wedding invitations by hand can be a gorgeous way to personalize your wedding, however this can sometimes be quite time consuming if your wedding party is expected to quite large. Don’t underestimate me, threading beautiful silk ribbon through the edges of your invitations, and watching your invites come together through your hard work can be so rewarding, however sometimes it can be just as exciting and enjoyable to have your invitations created through online companies, which can allow you to sit back, relax, and let someone else do the hard work.

Online companies
By having your invitations created through online companies you are leaving all of the hard work up to someone else, yet utilizing your creativity and having the personalized invitations you always wanted. Whether you want to scan romantic images of you and your loved one walking hand and in through the park….
Or simply to pick a beautiful pattern from the endless choices that creative companies have, you are generating beautiful personalized invitations, yet still have time work on the other aspects of your gorgeous wedding.
Don’t let the thought of making your own wedding favours fill you with dread; it can be such a fun and exciting way for you and your love one to spend some time together before the big day…… this also works for table decorations, place settings, wedding favours and of course gifts for the bridesmaids and the ushers.
