As you may already know, I’m a huge fan of re-fashion and transforming thrift shop (or my own closet) finds into new creations. Today, I’m sporting an one of a kind hand-made tank made from several thrift shop t-shirts by Cornelius Quiring.
I literally met Cornelius through Twitter. Funny how you can build an entire friendship strictly over the web. I was looking for someone to help me with redesigning my blog and Cornelius offered to help (BIG thanks) but also had a great story for me.
He was working on a very creative fashion project – Fly Your Own Flag, and absolutely intrigued me. Cornelius shares the same belief as me – someone else’s ‘scrap’ can transform into another person’s treasure. Below, I’m wearing an original tank that is not shared by any other. It was hand crafted and designed especially for me. Cornelius combined several fabrics from old tees – creating my own flag. I love the selection of colour, fabrics, and the fit was fantastic.
Would you consider flying your own flag?
Visit Cornelius’ website for more interesting projects he’s working on, and stay tuned for his collection of one-of-a-kind t-shirts. In the mean time, feel free to shop his existing collection of premium apparel.
Oh, and if you’re looking for some Valentine’s DIY inspiration, remember to read my post from last week!
