Let me ask you a question, do you think that indoor air is better than outside air? Answer to that question is false because inside air pollution can be up to five times worse! Poor indoor air quality can be triggered in the home by some inconspicuous items such as scented candles, air fresheners, rugs, cushions and even cleaning supplies. And since we take 20,000 breaths a day, and much of that likely while we’re sleeping, means if you don’t have a proactive approach of purifying indoor air, you’re consuming a number of pollutants into your body.
I’ve owned my Dyson Pure Hot + Cool Link Purifier for nearly a year now (read my first review here) and I’m really happy with this device. Originally, I enjoyed the unit’s cooling and heating features, but over time, I’ve noticed the positive results of the purifying capabilities and when I’ve found ourselves most dependent on it.

In my first review, I shared some detailed features of the Dyson Pure Hot+Cool Link. It automatically monitors, reacts and purifies and interacts with the Dyson Link App that allows you the control your unit, review indoor and outdoor air quality reports remotely. The unit comes equipped with the Dyson 360 Glass HEPA filter and has been designed to remove 99.97% of allergens and pollutants. These include pollen and allergens, bacteria, dust and mould spores, pet dander and potentially harmful ultrafine particles, trapping them in the filter and eliminating them from the air you breathe.
I’ve placed this unit in our bedroom since I acquired it last Fall because we spend most of our time relaxing in our bedroom and also felt that seeing our bedroom is on the third floor of our townhouse, it also doesn’t get as much ‘fresh air’ as we’d like. Majority of the time, we leave the device on the AUTO mode. The AUTO mode allows the purifier to detect the air quality and work it’s magic automatically.
In reviewing my past air quality data and trends via the Dyson Link app, it appears that for the most part, the air quality is stable and good. However, at certain times, the quality drops to a less than ideal level, and that’s when we most depend on our purifier.
Here are 3 instances when my Dyson Hot + Cool Link purifier has come to the rescue:
During a Home Renovation
We recently completed our master bathroom renovations (full reveal coming soon!). Even though during the few weeks of construction, the bedroom was sealed off with plastic wrap from the construction war zone, so much saw dust and debris seeped it’s way into the bedroom. If you’ve ever gone through a reno, I know you know what I’m talking about! Even though the particles are not quite visible to the eye, but if you just took a wet cloth and swiped over any surface, you’ll see a layer of grey dirt lifted. The Dyson purifier was left on constantly during this entire time to reduce the level of pollutants and bacteria in our bedroom area.
Allergy Season
When spring time approached, we left our windows opened during the day. But that also meant we were more exposed to allergens with the change in season. The Dyson purifier was able to stabilize the air quality indoors without compromising the excitement of enjoying some much needed ‘fresh air’ after a cold and harsh winter.
Recovering from illness or surgery
Last week, I underwent a gallbladder removal surgery. I was ordered by the surgeon to get plenty of rest and ensure that my immune system was kept strong, and free of any bacteria to reduce the possibility of infections and other complications. Being bed ridden for a few days, it was so important to me that the bedroom was comfortable and clean. The Dyson purifier was a great companion during my recovering process as it not only regulated the bedroom’s temperature but also ensure that I wasn’t breathing in any unnecessary pollutants and allergens.
According to my Dyson Link App, I still have 3000+ hours of purifying time remaining on my filter before having to replace it. The App is super handy because it takes the guess work out of the equation.
If you want to take the proactive approach of making your home a safe and healthy breathing environment for you and your family, I absolutely recommend the Dyson Pure Hot + Cool Link purifier. Between June 30 – July 28, Dyson is challenging Canadians to take the #PurifierChallenge. For each Purifier purchased during this time, customers will receive one filter replacement (valued at $99.99) by registering the machine online by August 31, 2017.
Thanks for stopping by and happy breathing!
