I’ve always been a fan of linen clothing due to the lightweight and breathability of the material but I’ve never once thought of using linen as bedding and I’m so glad I made the switch. Sleeping on pure organic linen is an experience that is hard to explain in words but I’m going to try my best to convey it to you but truthfully, you should try for yourself!
I was first introduced to Dreams Jumper, a Canadian brand specializing in luxury bedding for babies and kids, when I was pregnant with Everett and looking for crib sheets. I learned from my friends at Dreams Jumper that pure organic linen is a wonderful choice as crib sheets because its hypoallergenic, anti-bacterial, dirt-repellent and water absorbing.
Everett has been sleeping on Dreams Jumper linen fitted crib sheets since he was six weeks old and I’m so impressed with the quality of the material. At first, this natural fibre exhibits a raw feel to it but with each use and wash, it becomes softer, smoother, and more comfortable. Since Everett has eczema, linen is also the most suitable choice for him because it is naturally hypoallergenic and breathable, which makes a world of a difference for babies and kids with sensitive skin or who struggles with skin conditions.
I decided to make the switch to linen for our own bedding as well after observing the material transform first hand over a number of months. Plus, I really LOVE the look and style of linen, this Dreams Jumper Queen Duvet Linen Cover Set is simply beautiful and instantly gives freshness and a beachy vibe to any bedroom space.
Kyle and I took a these sheets for a test drive and we can 100% attest to the fact that they are MORE breathable and water/sweat absorbent then any other material we’ve slept on. And trust me, I’ve accumulate all sorts of bedding at home over the years. After trying these out for a week, I noticed that we stayed cool through the night (Kyle gets HOT easily) and the sheets stayed dried from sweat as well as linen absorbs up to 20% of its own water weight before becoming damp.
Its anti-bacterial nature means you won’t have to launder them frequently but even if you decide to there is no worry about wear and tear. I mentioned above, with each wash, the material just seems to get softer and cuddlier! I just absolutely love the linen material against my skin, it’s so gently, delicate and soft. The only downside is that it’s now extremely tough to climb out of bed!
If you’ve not given linen bedding a try, I absolutely recommend it. I’d also urge you to give it a few nights to truly experience what it has to offer. And if your little one isn’t sleeping comfortably through the night or struggling with skin problems, linen may also be able to provide some relief. I know my little guy sure loves it!
