With the cooler season upon us, I’ve been less tempted to dine out (thanks to the close of summer patio season!) and have finally decided to dust off my apron. I’ve been researching a number of fall themed recipes and cannot wait to host our friends for long overdue dinner parties.
While serving up delicious food and drink is the number one priority when it comes to being a hostess, I’m equally serious about setting the perfect, swoon-worthy tablescape.
This season, I’ve partnered up with the One of a Kind Online Shop to share my Fall Favourites from Ontario’s very own artisan community to help you get a head start on setting up an inviting yet impressive tablescape.

To be honest, as much as I love the cozy Fall season, officially saying goodbye to Summer is not an easy feat! I decided to incorporate these Country Flower tea towels by SENAY DESIGN STUDIO as napkins to ease into the transition of summer BBQ vibes to sophisticated Fall sensations.
The important thing about creating a balanced tablescape is to find a few key accent colours to work with. I included miniature pumpkins in orange, green, and white, which were colours that were picked up from the napkins to bring in the festive ambiance.
As someone who has much appreciation for handmade pottery, I found these mini SUPER POTS handmade by THE POTTERY which are perfect for everything from nuts, jams, butter and sauces to accompany the meal you plan to serve. I love that each one is one of a kind, with a slightly different variation of colour and pattern.
This DUSTY ROSE STANDARD MUG by MUSKOKA BAY POTTERY is a nice alternative to hold utensils. In my case, I dropped in some dry flowers and REUSABLE GLASS STRAWS by ARTECH GLASSBLOWING STUDIOS. These reusable straws are extremely eco friendly, and can be washed after each use.
I absolutely adore this LAZY SUSAN created by ROCKINGHORSE PAST Inc. Instead of a floral or foliage centerpiece, I used this tray as my focal point, which was made with weathered boards and finished in a distressed white. The quote, “gather here and share with us” was handwritten and I found it to be extremely relevant when it comes to bringing family and friends together around the dinner table.
If you’ve been invited to attend as a guest instead, why not surprise the hostess with a beautiful gift box by PRESENT DAY GIFTS? THE HOUSEWARMING BOX includes an assortment of local pantry goods such as Premium Greek extra-virgin olive oil, tin of Herbes de Provence herbs, creamy Dijon mustard, seasonal artisan jams and much more.
When it comes to serving up beverages, I am absolutely obsessed with the ROCK BOTTOM VESSEL by Studio50 sitting proud and tall on the LIVE EDGE CHARCUTERIE BOARD. The boiling flask can withstand both extreme hot and cold liquids. To keep liquids hot, the concrete base can be preheated in the oven for 25 minutes prior to use and on the contrary, to keep drinks cool, the base can be chilled in the fridge or freezer. Your drinks will never be melt or dilute! I decided to keep things simple and filled this flask with refreshing cucumber, rosemary infused water.

I like to bring the outdoors in and place foliage and branches on the table and around the room
Love a good fall soup! Just made a butternut squash soup for my family (the first time they’ve ever had one) and also a lot of mini pumpkins for decoration. Still need to go find me one! Or some!
I love serving my guests fall sangria (sparkling wine, apple cider, cinnamon sticks, and apple slices)!
Like to make apple sauce & apple crisp from all the apple picking at the local farm.
I love making mini pumpkin scones!
We always do a warm fall salad. My favourite this year is a roasted butternut squash and beet salad, with pecans, golden raisins and bosc pears. Paired with a maple orange cinnamon vinaigrette. Really starts our dinners out well!
I love to make pumpkin cookies.
I love anything using earthy ingredients – soup, squash everything, and cinnamon – all the warm, fuzzy things!
I really love butternut squash soup for a fall appetizer!
My favourite Fall recipe idea would be one that centres around squash.

My favourite Fall entertaining idea is setting the table with DIY tea light holders made out of wee gourds. 🙂
I love starting dinner celebrating the beautiful root vegetables of fall. Serving delicious cocktaiks with warm apple cider. There are magical items in your garden that can make a beautiful centre piece.
Play up the bounty of Fall all around us in every recipe. Pumpkins, sage, persimmons, apples! So many flavours to savour 🙂
