Today marks my 36th birthday and my 6 month pregnancy milestone. I can’t believe how quickly time flies! 36th is going to be an incredible year because I’ll get to embark all the new experiences and challenges that is soon to come. I’m sharing a very special set of intimate photos in this post to celebrate my birthday and Mother’s Day.
I was invited by Anita Lingerie and The Kit to join four other expectant mothers across Canada to participate in a Mother’s Day maternity photoshoot taken by Celebrity Photographer George Pimentel. Anita is a German-based lingerie and swimwear brand. They are focused on helping women at every stage of their life, from sports bras to maternity to nursing bra.
There are SO many body changes experienced when you’re pregnant, but the one I noticed first definitely had to do with getting new bras! The Anita Lingerie team provided so much support (no pun intended) to me and recommended many choices to get me through this ever changing journey. I’m sure every woman would agree with me that, the wrong bra can cause discomfort. When you’re wearing the wrong bra while pregnant, well that’s a whole other level of pain! With the help with Anita Lingerie, I was properly fitted and also equipped with knowledge as I anticipate for the nursing journey.
I was originally nervous and reluctant to post these photos as I’ve honestly been very self-conscious about my body. I’ve gained more weight that I had anticipated and new curves are appearing everywhere! But being pregnant was something that I had worked long and hard on and I’ve come to both embrace and love the changes I’m seeing and therefore, these photos will always be a reminder to me of just how beautiful pregnancy and a woman’s body is.
These were taken when was 16 weeks and today, as I reached 24 weeks, I am in awe of how big my belly has grown! It’s so fun to capture the week by week progress and soon, he will be in our arms!
