Aging is scary. I remembered when I turned 30 a few years ago, I had this overwhelming feeling or uneasiness. I was overwhelmed by the fact that I was approaching a new decade and a new era of added responsibilities. I was also worried about the anticipated changes to my skin and my body. The fact that I started to see a few strands of silver in my hair, fine lines that appeared around my eyes when I laughed, and accepting the reality that my jeans and bras just didn’t quite ‘fill in’ the same anymore. Basically, I was freaking myself out!
Luckily, I’ve come to realize that there are so many great things that come alongside with aging. I have accomplished numerous personal and career achievements, retained fantastic friendships, traveled to interesting destinations, married my soulmate, and more importantly, I feel happily comfortable everyday, everywhere, inside and out.
I’ve come to embrace life’s changes with age, and to be honest, I’ve never felt younger and more wonderful!
To celebrate the Be Your Own Kind of Wonderful campaign, WonderBra Canada worked with me on this beautiful intimate photo shoot taken in the privacy of my home – where I feel my personal best.
I’m so thrilled to be sharing these photos on the blog today and hoping to inspire those of you who may need a bit of confidence booster that being wonderful is simply finding your inner peace, celebrating the daily wins and embracing changes in your body by tastefully flaunting it!
I also want to share a few simple routines that have helped me feel great over the years.
Finding some me-time in the mornings is a great way to energize the day. Whether that means reading a magazine or enjoying a cup of espresso, I find it super relaxing and a great time to set intentions for the day.
Eating healthy has become a regular part of my lifestyle. The occasional indulgence is of course much needed, but I generally like to kick start my day with a bowl of warm oatmeal cooked in organic coconut milk mixed with dried fruits and nuts. Breakfast is extremely important to speed up your body’s metabolism!
It’s amazing how much fresh flowers can contribute to my overall mood! Every week, I like to bring home a bouquet of seasonal blooms.
As much as enjoy lounging around at home with cozy sweats, it’s equally important to dress up and feel sexy! I love fancying up and putting on red lipstick on date nights. It’s fun to romanticize and I’m sure the husband enjoys it too!
