With Spring just around the corner, I partnered with Joe Fresh to bring their “Free Your Fresh” Campaign to life by trying something fun and new to welcome this new season. I gathered up a couple of my besties and spent the morning sharpening our cake decorating skills at Velvet Lane Cakes located in Toronto.
We enjoyed delicious cups of lattes while mixing up colourful pastel icing and learning how to pipe different flowers and designs. I can’t tell you how much I enjoyed this morning with my gals! It’s so refreshing to pick up a new skill surrounded by a beautiful setting, delicious sweets, and people I love!
If you’re interesting in learning some cake decorating basics, I highly recommend gathering up your troops a sharing a cost to a private group class which is what we did, or equally, the lovely Danielle at Velvet Lane Cakes also runs public workshops which you can sign up for. I’m a terrible baker, so I’m glad all the cakes were pre-baked and all I had to focus on was flexing my rosette piping muscles!
The three of us all used the rosette as our main feature, but each of us took a slightly different spin! I love how similar but yet how different all three turned out!
